I am glad that the post mentions that people need to stop calling themselves non-technical. Instead, they need to position themselves as Semitechnicals – the kind of folks technical people need to build a real business.
One of the hardest problems I have is vetting technical co-founders or co-founders in general to ensure that they're the right fit. Imo the resources here are still too minimal
As the business guy, I built an "AI co-founder" after tuning my project ideas and objectives with Claude/Anthropic, which then became my co-interviewer for a "human tech co-founder" (I did all of this initially from a hospital bed, recovering and rehabbing from major surgery last year). Posted it on LinkedIn, got over 800 views and about 20 solid leads, narrowed it to five and had serious discussions with three, then went with a talented tech individual who shared my instincts and insights for both the tactical and strategic picture and game-plan. Had to temporarily shelf the initiative due to other intervening life events, but the experience worked out well from a bootstrapped startup perspective.
Coincidentally, I am a technical co-founder reading this post and can attest to what’s been mentioned.
Also open to any such discussions and hearing ideas
Fantastic!
Any tips for the opposite? I can build but want to work with someone who has a vision lol
Is part time technical founder a thing? I’m 41 with a child and a full time job :)
Seconding this request.
That's a great idea for a post!
You want someone who identifies as a semitechnical: https://semitechnicals.com/p/are-you-a-semitechnical
I am a technical Co-founder open to discussions & ideas....

In fact, people should try to assess where they belong on the technicality spectrum: https://semitechnicals.com/p/the-technicality-spectrum

Good feedback! More to come.
