The interesting thing about Omnea is that procurement is exactly the kind of market people underestimate because it sounds boring. But boring workflows with huge budgets, tons of stakeholder pain, and messy internal politics are usually where real software companies get built.

The key question for joining, IMO, is whether Omnea can become the default workflow layer for how companies buy, approve, renew, and manage suppliers. If they pull that off, the category is much bigger than better procurement tool.

Omnea is directly in the firing line of mid-market procurement pain. Every ops and IT team is dealing with too many approval workflows and not enough visibility. Worth tracking how they handle enterprise scale.

Procurement software is one of the most underrated categories for mid-sized companies. Teams spend huge amounts on SaaS tools without any real visibility into what they’re actually using or overpaying for. Omnea is doing interesting work here — the intake + approval + renewal tracking combo in one platform is exactly what ops leaders need. We cover this space at SourceMind AI and the number of companies still running procurement via email and spreadsheets is staggering. Great breakdown!

Great breakdown of Omnea. The shadow spend problem they’re solving is real - we see it constantly when helping mid-market ops and finance teams evaluate AI tools. Most companies don’t even know what SaaS they’re paying for. An AI-native procurement layer like this could be a game-changer.
